✔️ PhD Candidate at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon (2021), with a visiting research period at Johns Hopkins University (2024).
✔️ Actively involved in the CORE Group and CERIS (Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability) research groups, and a collaborating member at IDMEC (Institute of Mechanical Engineering). His research focuses on pultruded structures of glass-fiber-reinforced polymers (GFRP).
✔️ He also serves as a member of the special study committee ABNT/CEE-240, responsible for establishing guidelines on GFRP pultruded profiles (ABNT NBR 17231-2025).
✔️ He holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ (2020), with a focus on Structures and Materials, where he worked on the numerical modeling of thin-walled composite structures.
✔️ He earned his Civil Engineering degree from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (2017), where he developed software for optimizing space frames in steel structures. During his undergraduate studies, he completed an exchange program at the University of Minnesota (2014) and undertook an academic research internship at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Armor College of Engineering (2015).
✔️ In addition, he holds a Civil Construction Technician degree, with an emphasis on building construction, from the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (2010). He has practical experience in civil construction, particularly in building projects, fire prevention and firefighting systems, and architectural design.

✔️ Full Professor in the Department of Structures at the Polytechnic School and in the Civil Engineering Program at COPPE, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
✔️ Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1973), a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from COPPE, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1979), and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Liège (1988).
✔️ Leads the Research Group on Stability of Steel and Composite Steel-Concrete Structures, active in the Professor Fernando Lobo Carneiro Laboratory of Structures and Materials (LABEST) at COPPE, where he supervises master’s and doctoral research projects.
✔️ At the Polytechnic School’s Civil Engineering program at UFRJ, he serves in the Department of Structures and coordinates the Steel and Timber Structures Division.
