FStr is a computational tool based on the Finite Strip Method, designed for the elastic buckling analysis of thin-walled structures. With an intuitive interface, it enables users to visualize buckling mode shapes in both 2D and 3D formats and to compute critical buckling loads/stresses for various member lengths.
A software developed using the Finite Strip Method (FSM), applying trigonometric series in the longitudinal direction to satisfy diverse boundary conditions;
Allows analysis across a range of lengths through signature curves, helping users identify critical buckling modes for each case;
Offers 3D visualizations with detailed color plots, enhancing the interpretation of structural behavior.
The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is developed in MATLAB App Designer;
Designed for clarity and accessibility, enabling seamless data input and results interpretation;
Suitable for both academic research and engineering applications involving thin-walled profiles of arbitrary cross-sections.
FStr is officially registered with the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) under the registration number BR512024003915-5. The software is free for public use, though its internal routines remain proprietary and protected.
