"Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here."
Sylvia Plath was an American poet and author best known for her use of raw, unadulterated writings discussing heavy topics; such as, mental illness, identity, and familial dynamics. She was born on October 27, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts and died on February 11, 1963 in London, England. Her time on this earth may have been dim, but her impacts are eternal. Plath's writing can be beautiful and disturbing at the same time, which is part of what makes it so memorable.
