Guy Haley was born on June 6th, 1973 in Yorkshire England. He is married to his wife Emma and has one child named Benny. When he was 18, he decided to become an author. He went to a university then left to teach English in Poland. After some years he went to Portsmouth College but later dropped out because of a job offer. Other than that, there is little information available regarding his personal life. When he first started writing, he created many original fiction novels. They predominantly focused on technology and science fiction, as seen in his most popular novel series Richards & Klein. He wrote other successful series such as Dreaming City, yet many of his original novels became disappointingly stunted. His publisher pulled the plug on some of his original content. This is likely a very big contributing factor towards his change in writing.
Haley started working for the black library, a novel centered company division of the famous Games Workshop. The majority of his work moving forwards was focused on either developing the plot or setting of Warhammer. Warhammer is a tabletop wargame with novels that establish the setting and characters of the famous game. Haley was a fan of Warhammer since he was 10, playing in the 1st editions of each game. He started off as an editor in their magazine line, The White Dwarf, commonly posting his reviews of books. Later, Haley would write almost 40 full novels and many short stories for black library. His novels were comprised of low fantasy medieval settings and science fiction. Arguably his most important pieces were in the Horus Heresy and Siege of Terra series. Haley wrote his own novels for Black Library as well as collaborative works with other Black Library authors. In his interview with Games Workshop he spoke very highly of working with other authors. He believes it really opens the gate to a more diverse fictional world due to multiple minds. He also really enjoys it as he is very good friends with many of the authors for Warhammer. He was tagged as one of the fastest writers in his occupation, saying he writes enough content yearly to make 4-6 novels. Although he is most known for his work in Richards & Klein, his work in the Warhammer world has made his name known for all fans of the setting. Haley is now very well known in the community and is commonly regarded as one of the best authors for Warhammer novels.
