Utopia

Welcome to the 7th Grade Utopia Project!

A country across the world has heard about your incredible knowledge of government and economics. Impressed by your skills, they have asked you and your team to design the perfect system to lead their nation into a bright and prosperous future!

In this project, your group will be randomly assigned a country, and it will be your job to create a government and economic system that will turn it into a utopia—a place where people thrive, communities flourish, and the nation prospers.  You must understand the culture, physical geography, and the resources of your country before you begin constructing a government and economic system. 

Your Mission:

1. Government System: Will your country have a democracy, a monarchy, theocracy, oligarchy, or something brand new? How will leaders be chosen and how will laws be made?  What rights will the people have? 

2. Economic System: Capitalism, Traditional, Communism or Socialism? How will people earn and spend money? Will your economy be based on trade, industry, or something unique?

3. National Identity: What symbols, flags, and mottos will represent your nation? What laws and values will make it stand out?
   
   

Your team will present your ideas to the class, explaining why your system is the best choice for your country. Be creative, think critically, and work together to build the ultimate utopia!
