Bringing sustainability, renewable energy, and energy efficiency initiatives at College of the Atlantic to communities across Downeast Maine.
The Community Energy Center at College of the Atlantic is a resource and project hub for students, homeowners, businesses, municipalities, and nonprofits interested in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Through hands-on projects, data collection, education, and community outreach, the CEC explores and implements innovative projects that prioritize local control of energy systems, utilize novel forms of financing, and demonstrate integrated approaches to sustainability.
The purpose of this Google Site is to archive and display past energy work conducted through the CEC and at COA, offering an organized platform where students can access past projects and collected data for use in classes and independent academic work.
Access all past work through the Energy Projects tab, or explore solar work conducted across Hancock County in REDA Solar Analyses. If you like energy maps, check out our GIS projects.
