Coalition for a Democratic India

The Coalition for a Democratic India (CDI) supports economic, environmental, and social movements in India by serving as a “center of praxis” for Indian grassroots organizations carrying forward various peoples' struggles.

CDI generates original theoretical work focused on the relationships between citizens and the state, humans and nature, and people and the economy. While the geographic focus for CDI is India, the thematic focus is global. By engaging with emerging ideas and institutions at the global level and exploring how it unfolds in the Indian context, CDI aspires to become a praxis hub, which supports the actions of grassroots people’s movements.
