ORO Set 1
Human Growth & Development
Every child enters the classroom with unique gifts and abilities. Some children demonstrate their strengths easily, while others—especially children with diverse abilities or what the Reggio Emilia philosophy refers to as children with special rights—invite educators to look more deeply to discover their talents.
In this engaging keynote, early childhood consultant Ashley Acers introduces her playful superhero identity, Captain Bounce Back, a reminder that resilience is one of the most powerfulabilities educators can help children develop.
Through storytelling, humor, and reflective discussion, participants explore how supportive relationships, inclusive learning environments, and intentional teaching strategies help children build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Educators examine how recognizing children's strengths—rather than focusing solely on challenges—can empower children to persist, problem-solve, and develop a strong sense of capability.
Participants will leave inspired to recognize the strengths in every child and to help children develop the most important superpower
Participants must complete attendance and evaluations for all sessions attended in order to receive ORO credit.
