Because content within a document header is often not detectable by assistive technology, all department information (name, address, and contact details) must be included within the body of the document in addition to the visual header. This ensures that essential contact information is available to all users.
Use proper heading styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.) - don't just make text bigger and bold
Add alt text to images - describe what the image conveys
Use sufficient color contrast - text must be readable against backgrounds
Make tables accessible - designate header rows
Use descriptive hyperlink text - avoid "click here" or bare URLs
Use built-in lists - use bullet/numbered list buttons, not manual formatting
Avoid text boxes - use document body text instead
Don't use blank lines for spacing - use paragraph spacing settings
Use columns feature for multi-column layouts - don't use tables or tabs
Ensure logical reading order - content flows top to bottom correctly
