The overall purpose of the program is to begin the study of a musical instrument and experience the pleasure of music through playing that instrument. Benefits from this kind of study go beyond the learning of music. Students also develop self-confidence, a good self-image, responsibility, self-discipline and they learn teamwork through playing with the band. All current research establishes a very strong connection between learning to play a musical instrument and improved test scores and grades.

Band Begins the week of September 1st.
Last Day to enroll in Band September 18th.
FAQ’S
Band is a pull-out program open to all 5th & 6th grade students (no experience needed).
Band lessons are in a group, two times a week for 30 minutes.
There is No Academic grade for band.
The band will perform two school concerts in December and May.
Students will receive a Free Band T-Shirt.
