Christopher Newport University's Student Sustainability Commission was founded in the Fall of 2018 by students of Dr.Redekop's Envriomental Leadership course. We were first founded as a commission under SGA; however, we recently established ourselves as an independent organization. SSC reflects diversity in class years, feilds of study and sustainability interests. We have collaborated with many different organizations, faculty, and staff, to promote sustainable living both on and off campus. ~Anna and Rachel can add whatever else~

"The Student Sustainability Commision at Chrisopher Newport University serves to build a community of enviromentally concious students, faculty, and staff through the development and funding of educational programs, university-wide initiatives, and outreach in the greater Newport News community. We aim to establish Christopher Newport University as a role model for our peer insitutions and a leader for sustainable living everywhere."
