Upcoming Events 

• Please mark your calendars for our largest fundraiser of the year! The Red/Blue Gala is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Babel’s Barn in Wood River. You can purchase tickets online at https://secure.qgiv.com/event/redbluegalaauction/

  • Our next planning meeting will be February 9th at 5:30 p.m. at the high school. All are welcome to attend. 

• The National Honor Society and Quiz Bowl Team of Grand Island Lutheran High School are hosting a Dodgeball Tournament on Friday, March 6th, 2026.  The proceeds will go towards the NHS and Quiz Bowl team expenses for 2026. 

General Announcements 

• The high school has been going through a lot of Clorox Wipes this cold and flu season. If you are willing to donate a container or two, we would be very grateful! They can be dropped off in the office. Thank you!  

• The next Post Prom meeting will be held on February 10th at 6:30 in Mrs. Zehendner’s room. All Senior parents are encouraged to attend! 

• Parent Teacher Conferences are February 19th from 4:00-8:00pm 

• 2:25 dismissal on February 19th. No hot lunch served.   No School on February 20th.  

• State Cheer is February 20th at the Heartland Event Center. Grand Island Lutheran High cheer is tentatively scheduled for 3:15pm that afternoon.

• NEW - 13 - Week Grief Support Group: GriefShare will start a new 13 week session beginning Thursday, February 19 and will meet every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Trinity Fellowship Hall. GriefShare gives help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. For anyone who has lost a loved one regardless of whether your experience is recent or in the past. Go to GriefShare.org to sign-up or call us in the church office. 308-382-0753.

Academic Updates 

• Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year is now open. Please log into your Family Portal, click Apply/Enroll, then Reenrollment where you will find your current student listed. If you have an additional student who will be new to the school, please start with a new application for them. Current families are being given a two-week window to complete re-enrollment before new applications are being accepted. After we start accepting new applications your spot will not be guaranteed. • EXCITING NEWS! This spring, instead of taking the MAP Growth test as usual, the Juniors will be taking the ACT for their spring testing on April 15th. If you haven't taken the ACT yet, great, you get to take it with us! If you have taken the ACT, great, you get to retake it with us! We are going to work on implementing some ACT prep things during the school day.
