Upcoming Events

We will once again be at the Nebraska State Fair from August 28th through September 7th for our annual pie booth fundraiser! Volunteers will receive a ticket to enter the fair for their scheduled shift. Tickets can be picked up in the High School Office. If you are scheduled to work a weekend shift, please be sure to pick up your ticket from the High School Office before 3:00pm on Friday. We would greatly appreciate your help in making this year’s fundraiser a success! Please click this link to sign up for a volunteer shift.
The LCMS High School Youth Gathering is November 20-22, 2026 and will be held at the Younes Center in Kearney. Interested High Schoolers may register here: https://ndlcms.org/dyg/

Sports and Activities
A Gatorade Scrimmage will be held at GILH on August 21st. Volleyball begins at @ 5:15pm, Football @ 7:30pm and Cross Country to follow. A tailgate meal will be available. The Booster Club will be offering a $5 meal which includes a hotdog, chips, water, and dessert. Admission is one gatorade per person. Gatorade donations will benefit student athletes.
Cross Country will be hosting a GLOW RUN at approximately 8:45pm on August 21st after the football game. Walkers and runners are welcome! Glow necklaces and bracelets will be provided!
General Announcements
Make Tuition more affordable with RaiseRight! Raise money for TUITION when you buy gift cards to pay for purchases, shop online, dine out, or book travel through RaiseRight. A flyer with information about RaiseRight and an order form is available to download here and can be picked up in the school office.
Join us at Big Red Treats on August 18 from 4:00pm-8:00pm to support the GILH Boosters! A portion of all sales during this time will be donated back to the Boosters.
Junior High Football, Volleyball, and Cross Country, as well as High School Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Cheer photos will be taken August 21st after school. There will be a Senior parent meeting on Friday, August 21st between the volleyball and football scrimmages at 6:30pm. The meeting will be in Mrs. Zehendner’s room.
The cost of hot lunch for Junior High and High School students is $3.60 per meal. Each hot lunch includes one carton of milk.If your student would like an additional milk or would like to purchase milk with a cold lunch, the cost is $0.50 per carton.
Activity Passes are available for purchase in the Grand Island Lutheran High school office and will also be sold at home sporting events hosted by GILH. The cost of a Family Activity Pass is $175, and an Individual Activity Pass is $100. Passes are valid for admission to all regular-season home athletic events hosted by Grand Island Lutheran High School.Activity Passes are not valid for tournaments, conference events, post season competitions, or the school Drama Production.
School picture day is September 1st. Retake picture day will be September 30th.
No School on September 7th (Labor Day).
All medications must be kept in the school office and may not be kept with students. Parents or guardians must provide a signed note with instructions regarding when and how the medication should be given. If your child may occasionally need to take Tylenol or Ibuprofen during the school day, please provide the school office with a signed note. Thank you!
The Trinity Lutheran School Rainbow Club is looking for caring, enthusiastic team members to join their after school program! Applicants must pass all state and federal background checks and be at least 16 years of age. Flexible scheduling options are available!
