Google Classroom

You have two different ways to create your classes in Google Classroom:

  1. Create by yourself

With this option, you can create a new class with copied topics and classwork items from an existing one. Rosters and announcements won't be copied.

The disadvantage is that you need to invite your students to the course in Google Classroom.

You can check here the available options for inviting the students.

  1. Course creation by Technology

With this option, the courses are created by IT Department and the rosters importing from Skyward.

The downside is that you cannot copy all of your classwork items from an existing course, you have to manually insert them into the new course.

If you choose option 1, go ahead and start your course creation.

You can choose option 1 or 2 or a mix of both, by default you will see all your Skyward courses in Google Classroom created by IT Department, please check carefully If you are already using a course or you decided to create by yourself, click “Decline” for those classes so that you do not end up with duplicate Google Classrooms.
