Class of 1991 & 1996 changed the lives of

Juan Sebastián & Luisa

Juan Sebastián Sarmiento

CNG Alumni are making extraordinary things happen at the Hogar!

We would like to welcome this New Year by recognizing the outstanding generosity and engagement of CNG alumni towards our underprivileged neighbors.

Fundación Hogar Nueva Granada received two unique gifts from remarkably generous alumni last year. Thanks to them, the first ever full-tuition funds were made possible.

In June, as part of its 25th year reunion, the class of 1991 organized an art exhibition at José María de Valenzuela's former home. With the proceeds from the sale of works generously donated by Pablo García, Matías Gutiérrez, Pablo Tamayo and Alejandro Ortiz, $46 million were collected. With this significant donation, a $40 million fund was created to fully pay for 12 years of education for Luisa Fernanda Navarro (a first grade student) at the Hogar. The balance of the funds helped pay for much needed kitchen repairs and infrastructure improvements at the Fundación.

The class of 1996 celebrated their 20th graduation reunion in August and made an initial gift of two one-year Plan Padrino Education scholarships ($3 million). After meeting the Hogar students at CNG and inspired by Juan Sebastian Sarmiento, a very special, sweet and incredibly engaged 3rd grade student (who benefitted from this initial gift), a group of 1996 alumni took the initiative to sponsor Juan Sebastian's entire education at Colegio Fundación Nueva Granada. As a result, the Foundation's second full tuition fund (valued at $38 million, considering the initial donation) was made possible.

With infinite gratitude we would like to recognize these two remarkable groups of alumni for their exceptional generosity and commitment. Thanks to them and to our entire CNG community, we are transforming hundreds of children, families and lives and positively impacting our country's advancement. THANK YOU CNG alumni for making all this impactful work possible!
