💻 Technology & College Essentials

To help you make the most of your time at Newman, there are a number of resources and facilities available to support your learning both in and out of the classroom.

Devices Use

Students are encouraged to bring their own device to college where possible. Having access to a laptop or tablet can help you stay organised, access lesson resources, complete assignments and carry out independent study throughout the day. Don't worry if you don't have your own device – library computers are available for student use and can be accessed during study periods.

The College provides Wi-Fi access across the site, allowing you to connect your device quickly and securely. Instructions for connecting to the network can be found opposite.

Full details about how to connect can be found here - WiFi-Guides | Newman College

College ID

Every student will also be issued with a College ID card. Your ID card is an important part of daily college life and should be carried with you at all times. It is required for entry and exit from the College site and may be requested by staff at any point during the day.

Printing

Printing facilities are available to all students free of charge. Simply use your ID card to access the printers located around the College. This is particularly useful for coursework, revision materials and independent study resources.

Study Facilities

In addition to the facilities above, students have access to a range of study spaces across the College to support both independent and collaborative learning.

Whether you are looking for a quiet place to revise, complete coursework or work with friends on a project, there are several options available including the College Library, Newman Lecture Theatre, NS1, the Lower Floor Dining Hall and available classrooms throughout the day.

We encourage all students to make use of these spaces during study periods and free time to help develop positive study habits and make the most of the resources available at Newman.
