Welcome to Math Class!
My name is Ms. Kessenich and I have 10 years of experience teaching at the 5th-8th grade level. This will be my fourth year teaching math at Cheyenne Mountain Junior High School. Prior to moving to Colorado, I taught 5th-8th grade math and science at a small school in Elkhart Lake, WI.
In 2013, I earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater in Middle Childhood-Early Adolescence Regular Education with a minor in Mathematics. I am passionate about teaching math, and I enjoy watching my students learn in a variety of different ways.
In 2018, I earned my Math Specialist Certification from the University of Wisconsin - Stout. This graduate certification allowed me the opportunity to deepen my understanding of mathematics and strengthen my skills as a math teacher and math coach. I am passionate about helping other teachers become more confident in teaching mathematics to both elementary and middle school students.
In October of 2022, I completed a Masters of Arts in Mathematics Education (Middle Grades) degree through Western Governors University. This program is allowed me to strengthen my focus in the middle school math classroom, and obtain a deeper understanding of the math that I teach on a daily basis.
