More than 600 million birds are killed from littering and pollution every year, and if we don’t do anything in the meantime, that number will only become greater as the years go by. All types of animals can confuse plastics and litter for food, as a result they could get poisoned or trapped in the trash. Littering has caused severe weather problems and major temperature variations. Litter can also get caught in storm drains and cause floods. It can also be a fire hazard and it attracts pests and rodents. Even one piece of trash can be devastating to a birds life. Trash such as bullet casings, rotten food, and discarded plastic can be a main factor to the harming of birds.
