Wildcats Robotics Team

Purpose

The CHS VEX Robotics team strives to bring its members together through the use and application of S.T.E.M related disciplines to persevere through strenuous and demanding challenges determined by the VEX Robotics Competition. The focus of the team is unity and a collective mindset that each failure brings us closer to success. On August 1st, our head coach, Joe Greenberg, began his recruitment process for the Vex Robotics 2021-2022 Tipping Point competition season. By Mid-August, nearly 30 students decided they wanted a chance to be a part of a first for Clarksdale High School, and signed up to try out for the team. After three aptitude based tryouts, the team became officially composed of 10 students divided into three sub-teams. After becoming acquainted with the practice room, and our assistant coach, Benjamin Lewis, these students dove right into work on coding, building, designing, and driving, due to a late start in the competition season. Eventually, they narrowed the gap and became more cooperative and comparable with one another, and other teams within the state.

What have we done?

While we have yet to participate in any competitions, we have gotten one of the robots mostly operational; and another is fully built, but without code.
