 📢 February’s MYP Learner Profile Trait: Caring 💙

This month, we are focusing on the MYP Learner Profile trait Caring. A caring student shows empathy, compassion, and respect for others. They act to make a positive difference in the lives of those around them and in the world.

At Center Moriches Middle School, we encourage students to demonstrate care through their words and actions—whether by supporting a friend, showing kindness to someone in need, or contributing to their community.

🌟 Model Kindness – Show empathy in daily interactions and talk about how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

🌟 Encourage Helping Others – Find ways for your child to help around the house, assist a neighbor, or volunteer locally.

🌟 Practice Gratitude – Take time to share things you appreciate about each other and those in your community.

🌟 Discuss Empathy – Talk about different perspectives in books, movies, or real-life situations to help your child understand others’ feelings.

🌟 Celebrate Acts of Kindness – Recognize when your child does something caring and reinforce the importance of their actions.
