Free/Reduced Lunch Application: If not currently approved through Child Nutrition Department apply here. If approved the State will provide you with up to $371 food allowance per child. Read more here about the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Program.
Food Stamps: If you are out of work, had work hours reduced or your food stamps were terminated due to work requirements you should apply for food stamps. (Note: Department of Social Services offices are closed)

Parents who need food assistance for their children can text FOODNC to 877-877 to locate nearby free meal sites.

The texting service is also available in Spanish by texting COMIDA to 877-877.

Parents can also call 2-1-1 to speak with an operator who will help them locate meal sites in their community.

Meal distribution information:
- Grab and go meals will be provided and served Monday-Friday between 10:30am -12:30pm. All meals are FREE for anyone 18 years old and under. Please see link here for participating locations to pick up meals.
- McDonald's Franchisee in Mecklenburg County: For the next two weeks, beginning March 17, 2020, and ending March 27, 2020, McDonald's will be offering: Students 12 years old and under the choice of a FREE Plain Cheeseburger, Plain Hamburger, or 4-PC McNugget and a Small Fry. Monday-Friday between the hours of 11 AM-2 PM. With the current conditions in mind, they ask that parents utilize the Drive-Thru option to order these meals. Students must be present and parents will need to let the cashier know that they are a Charlotte-Mecklenburg County student. This offer will be valid at all of McDonald's Restaurants in Mecklenburg County.
