Student Technology
Students will be issued a Chromebook for school and home use for the 2018-2019 school year.
- This will happen toward the week of Spetember 24th until that time students will receive a device to use in each class and return at the end of the class period.
- Students and parents must sign and return a device use agreement prior to being issued a Chromebook.
- It is the student's responsibility to bring a charged device to school each day to use for class.
- If a device is damaged, Mrs. Ferron will be in the media center Helpdesk before school (6:30-7:!5), during lunches (10:30-12:30), and after school (2:15-3:00) each day for repair. It is the responsibility of the student to come during those assigned times.
- Loaner machines will only be available for students who need a repair. You must bring the damaged device to the Helpdesk to receive a loaner.
- If a student withdraws from Butler, the device and charger needs to be returned.
Some helpful tips:
- Take a picture, or write down your Chromebook CMS label and serial number.
- You may not permanently place stickers or paint your Chromebook, but it will be helpful to label your cover, or have a unique case or cover to identify your device.
- Charging cords will be invaluable (like your cell phone charger). Avoid bringing it to school and do not loan it out to others. It may be beneficial to label charger.
- Always store your Chromebook in a secure location - a locker is strongly encouraged at school. Have a secure place at home to charge your device.
- Do not leave bookbags unattended or where Chromebooks may be damaged.
- Do not leave Chromebooks in cars where they may be stolen, leave them on the bus or other locations where they may be stolen or misplaced.
