Hello! My Name is Bradley Hood and I am the Theatre Arts teacher at Sharon Elementary school in Charlotte, NC. Theatre at Sharon Elementary helps students learn skills like verbal/ non-verbal communication, confidence, collaboration, public speaking, and use critical thinking all while providing an outlet for students to express their creativity. In Theatre class students will not only act and perform, but they will learn about theatre history, design and production, and write/ create their own plays and performances. While exploring theatre arts, students will also use English Language Arts to read and write their own plays. This class will be an exciting opportunity for students to learn new ways to think, act, feel, create and use words to express themselves. My goal for all my students is to not to become professional actors, playwrights, directors, and designers, but to grow as a person through the skills taught through participating in Theatre Arts. Students in 1st and 3rd grade will work on musical productions in Theatre and Music class to produce for parents and the school. Mrs. Escalante , Mrs. Gaines, and I will also direct the "Encore Ensemble", an optional performance group for 4th and 5th graders.
