The South Charlotte Middle School Band Program consists of the 8th Grade Wind Ensemble, 8th Grade Jazz Ensemble, 7th Grade Symphonic Band, 7th Grade Concert Band, 7th Grade Jazz Ensemble, 6th Grade A-Day Concert Band and the 6th Grade B-Day Concert Band. Some of our students perform in the Charlotte Youth Symphony, Charlotte Youth Wind Ensemble, Blazing Band and other outstanding performing groups. Students are encouraged to audition for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Honors Band (All-County), South Central District Honors Band (All-District), and the North Carolina Honors Band (All-State), pending seating in the All-District Band. The experience of auditioning early enhances your chances of qualifying for honor bands in the coming years as you become more comfortable with the audition process. Many of our students have gained valuable musical and life experiences from participating in these honor bands!
