ABOUT ME

In 1995, I graduated from Buffalo State College where I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics Education. I moved to sunny Charlotte in 1997 to take my first teaching position at Albemarle Road Middle School. For the next 3 years, I taught Math 7, Math 8, Algebra I and Geometry at Smith Middle School. I started teaching Algebraic Thinking, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Advanced Functions and Modeling at Providence High School in 2000. After teaching Algebraic Thinking, I became a national trainer during the summers teaching this course for the National Training Network. I taught in Baltimore, Las Vegas, Detroit and Charlotte. I enjoyed working in the summers as an adult educator and liked traveling around the US. In 2003, I continued my studies while teaching at Providence HS and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I received a Masters of Mathematics in Education. In 2007, I wanted to improve as a teacher so I completed the National Board Process and was awarded certification. I continued with my learning experiences by attending graduate school to obtain a second masters degree. I graduated in 2010 with an Add-On License for School Administration K-12 from Wingate University. In addition to obtaining my second masters, I made a career change after teaching at Providence HS for the past 10 years. I worked in central office for CMS as a Title I HS Professional Development Specialist with an emphasis on Math. My past experiences led me to my current position working at West Mecklenburg High School as a Math Multi-Classroom Leader in which I support Math 1 & Math 2 students and teachers.
