Welcome to Ms. Edens' Horticulture class at Providence High School.

I am excited to be a part of Providence High this year. I have a great love for plants, animals and all things beautiful. This is my 11th year at Providence.

Professionally I have been a Landscape Designer in Charlotte for the past 23 years. My specialty lies in Plants of the Southeast and Garden Renovation so I really love sharing my knowledge, experience and talents with the students at Providence. I learn my best by seeing things in different ways and by touch so I try my best to apply this in my class as much as possible.

I grew up on a large family farm growing mainly peanuts, corn, cotton, soybeans and turkeys. My family instilled my love of agriculture in me and a hard work ethic. I continued my education at Clemson University where I got a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture, specializing in Landscape Design.

I have been very blessed with a wonderful family including my 3 beautiful children, Ashleigh (17), Henry (13) and Caroline (13). My students will tell you there is very little they can pull over me that my twins haven't tried already!

This semester I have tutoring available every  Tuesday by appointment. A simple email or reaching out to me in class to let me know you need me to stay would be great.

We have an active FFA (Future Farmers of America) chapter here at Providence. Please check out the FFA tab at the top for more information on membership and activities.  If you are looking for a fun way to get involved at PHS and make new friends you won't be disappointed in FFA. We strive to teach leadership as well as exploring how agriculture affects our lives right here in Charlotte.
