Each season follows a predictable timeline for team organization. Student leaders should coordinate together to ensure that team organization is maintained.
August:
Start researching this season's tournaments by looking at local teams' schedules, the TFL website, and/or the Tabroom home page
Make sure the team's annual dues are paid to the NSDA; the school's financial administrator in the main office should be able to help with this
September - February:
Compete! See the "Competing" tab for more information on how to register for tournaments
Remember that in order to be eligible to compete in post-season tournaments, students will need to meet requirements during the season:
TFL State Tournament: Requires students to earn bids at in-state tournaments during the regular season
Tournament of Champions: Requires students to earn bids at national circuit tournaments during the regular season
NCFL National Tournament: Requires students to rank in the top 5 of the Charlotte Diocese rankings
NSDA National Tournament: Requires students to place in the top of competitors at the Carolina West District Tournament
At the end of the regular season would be a great time to enter points and distribute new merit seals.
March - April:
Register for the Carolina West District Tournament. Entries will be capped, so you'll need to decide who gets a spot.
Register for the State Tournament. Anyone can enter in JV/Novice, but Varsity may only compete with bids; the team will receive 5 wild cards to bypass the bid requirement.
If students qualify for the NCFL or NSDA National tournament, complete registration materials and arrange for travel in April.
In April, order graduation cords from the NSDA website.
