Mrs. Long

Hi! My name is Mrs. Long. I am so excited about being your 4th grade teacher this year! This will be my 16th year teaching and my seventh year at Olde Providence Elementary. I’m looking forward to a fun year full of learning and adventure. I am dedicated to making this a wonderful year and I can’t wait to get to know each of you! 

I was born and raised in Charlotte. I went to Sharon Elementary, Carmel Middle (where I met my husband!) and Myers Park High School. I started dancing when I was 4 years old and continued through college. I spent most of my childhood at the dance studio or traveling for competitions. I also loved playing outside in my neighborhood, playing “school” with my neighbors and swimming in the summer. 

I attended Appalachian State University and loved every second of living in the mountains. I came back to Charlotte to do my student teaching (at Olde Providence). I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2015. I completed my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction program in June of 2019.
