Media Center Hours

Monday - Friday 8:45 am - 4:00 pm

Virtual library resources are open 24/7 during this time and into the future!

CMS is now allowing volunteers in our school and the Media Center is in desperate need of assistance! Parents, please consider donating some of your time, whether a little bit or a lot, once or on a regular schedule. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Mission: The mission of the CMS Media Program is to prepare students for lifelong learning, informed decision-making, a love of reading, and the use of information technologies through teacher collaboration that integrates inquiry and information literacy with curriculum standards.

Vision: The media center program fosters a community of literacy and learning that leads to high student achievement, independent reading and learning, and collaboration throughout the school.

Visiting the Media Center

Students are allowed to come to the Media Center before School between 8:45 and 9:00, and then after 9:00 with a pass from their 1st block teacher. During the day, they may come with a pass from their teacher (signed and dated with the time), except during 2nd High School lunch when the Media Center is closed. After school, students may visit as long as they are not riding the school bus, have permission from their ride, and have spoken to Mrs. Slater in advance to make sure that the Media Center will be open, which is typically until 4:45. However, your ride MUST be here waiting for you.

Please be respectful of those around you, as well as the space when visiting.

Help Desk students are available to assist 2A, 4A, & 1B. Please show your pass, sign in at the desk to the left of the door when you enter, and let the student at the desk know what they can do to help you. Mrs. Slater is available if it's something they're unable to help you with. Please refer to the Technology Assistance page on the school website for assistance with Chromebooks or other technology needs.

Check Out Policies

Students may check out 2 books at a time for two weeks. Renewals can be done online using Destiny or in person in the Media Center.

Books being returned should be dropped in the Drop Box to the right of the doors when you enter the Media Center. Books left anywhere else will not be checked in and you will still be responsible for the book until it's found and checked in.

What is ONE Access, you ask?

ONE Access is a collaboration between CMS and CMLibrary that brings all of the public library's resources to you using just your student ID#! Take a look at the introductory video below, as well as log in instructions and don't hesitate to reach out if you need any help or support!
