Get to Know Your Counselors!
The North Mecklenburg High School Student Services Department believes that all students are entitled to an enriched academic environment and a safe, supportive school community. All members of Student Services will assist students to develop academic, social/emotional skills, an appreciation for diversity, and a global awareness. Our goal is to support and develop within each student a readiness for college and/or career, and responsible citizenship.

☐Continue to pull up your GPA
The GPA achieved at the end of your JUNIOR year is what you will apply to college with!
☐Take the PreACT (given in November) and PSAT (given in October)
☐Log into Naviance to begin research
☐Speak with your counselor or college advisor
☐Make sure your course selections are aligned with your post-secondary plans
During registration, consider if honors or AP courses will be a good fit.
☐Consider summer enrichment programs or volunteer opportunities.
☐ Take small steps toward independence.
☐Take responsibility for your own success!
