Ms. Nestor J 101
My name is Amy Nestor and I started teaching in 2000. I began my career teaching high school math in Columbia, MD at the high school in which I attended as a student. This will be my 6th year at North Mecklenburg High School and I am very excited for all the amazing things happening this year. I am an energetic and animated teacher who always looks for ways to relate to students and keep their interest in the classroom. I have high expectations for my students as I believe all students can be successful when given the proper instruction and support system.
I am an avid sports fan and enjoy watching and playing all sports. I am a graduate of Coker College in Hartsville South Carolina where I earned All American status as a catcher on the nationally ranked softball team. I spend my Saturdays watching the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. I look forward to watching the many sports competitions here at North Mecklenburg and supporting my students on the field/court.
Ms. McNeely J 103
Hello! My name is Dwanna McNeely and I am a native of Charlotte and attended CMS schools as a youth. I transferred from the middle school level 8 years ago to help make a difference in students' lives as they transition off to college. Teaching is my passion and I enjoy being a role model to students and helping them reach their potential. As a former athlete I enjoy watching students participate in extra curricular activities seeing them compete outside of the classroom. I am a graduate of East Carolina University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (go Panthers and Heels!). I am an avid sports fan and spend a large portion of my free time playing and watching sports along with taking care of my Samoyed dog (Lexie). I am so excited to be a Viking this year and look forward to watching students grow both academically and socially.
