Our 25-26 National Board support launches on 9/13/2025!
2019-2020 was the last school year (cycle) in which NBCTs could renew their National Board Certification for 10 years. Beginning in 2020-2021, NBCTs will extend their Certification for 5 years through the new Maintenance of Certification (MOC) process.
CEUs: The state provides 2 CEUs for NBCTs who complete the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) process. These are awarded after receiving a passing score report from National Board.

Participants to do not earn CEUs for attending Saturday sessions. The CEUs for completing MOC are earned upon successful completion of the process.
Renewing or achieving your Maintenance of Certification (MOC) has many benefits. By maintaining your certification you are making a personal and public statement regarding your commitment to the profession, and your students! As you continue your journey of becoming a life-long learner and educator the MOC process provides an opportunity to showcase advancements in your practice and highlight areas of growth since initial certification. Check out a recent blog post about National Board renewal. This is an additional blog post by a renewed NBCT.
National Board announced changes to the renewal process. These changes are effective for candidates achieving National Board certification in 2017 and beyond. The changes also apply to NBCTs extending their certification in 2021 or beyond. Read more about these changes and the new Maintenance of Certification program on the National Board website. Consult the MOC Calendar to determine the years in which you are eligible to extend your National Board Certification through the MOC process.
We encourage CMS National Board candidates to join our support sessions. MyTalent registration is not required to participate in Office Hours sessions.
Saturday support sessions will be available for registration in MyTalent. Candidates will register one time for the year.
Sessions will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon on selected Saturdays.
Additional information will be emailed to MOC candidates throughout the school year.
No funding is provided by the state or CMS for the NB Certification renewal fee. Plan to submit your MOC fee prior to February 28, 2026. More information about payment deadlines is available at the National Board website link at the top of this page.
DonorsChoose is now accepting grant applications for professional development, including National Board MOC fees. You may wish to investigate this opportunity. You must complete and submit your MOC work in the school year (cycle) in which it is ordered and purchased.
