All About Me

Hello! My name is Carmela Thayer and I will be your child's first grade teacher this year!

I am originally from Connecticut and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Connecticut. I received my Elementary Education Certificate from Eastern Connecticut State University and my Master of Education in Literacy from Queens University of Charlotte.   I have taught in CMS for twenty-eight years and this will be my twenty-fouth year at Selwyn. I have taught both first and second grade during my career. 

I enjoyed my summer days playing with my pup and two kitties!

I am looking forward to starting this new school year and meeting my new students and their families.
