Hi! I'm Kaitlin Baird, a second grade teacher at Dilworth! I was born and raised in Cary, NC and moved to Charlotte last year. I attended Appalachian State (Go 'Neers!) in Boone, North Carolina and graduated in 2012. After college, I moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to start my teaching career. I've taught 2nd grade for two years, first grade for five years and now I'm excited for my second school year as Dilworth Dragon 2nd grade teacher! I have an adorable pup, Tucker and love running. I'm looking forward to a great year at Dilworth Elementary!

Hi! I'm Lindsey Auten, a second grade teacher at Dilworth! I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC and grew up in CMS schools. I attended Wingate University and graduated in 2014. After college, I moved to Wilmington, North Carolina to start my teaching career. I have taught 4th grade, 3rd grade, and 2nd grade. I was previously a 2nd grade teacher at Sedgefield and now I'm excited to be a Dilworth Dragon! I love to spend my free time walking my dogs, curled up with a good book, baking some sweet treats, and spending time with friends and family. I'm looking forward to a great year at Dilworth Elementary!

Hi! I'm Kathleen Byrne, a second grade teacher at Dilworth! This is my third year teaching second grade at Dilworth! I have also taught 5th,1st and TD classes in New York City and Greenwich, CT. I am a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University where I earned a Masters of Teaching in Elementary Education and the College of the Holy Cross where I majored in English. My husband, Tony, and I are the lucky parents of five children. My oldest, Thomas, just graduated from Clemson University - GO Tigers! Mary Kate, is entering her fourth year at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, Edward, Henry and Caroline are all students at Myers Park High - Edward is a senior and Henry and Caroline are freshmen. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!

Hi! I'm Lillian Shamy, a second grade teacher at Dilworth! I grew up in Roanoke, Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech with a business degree. Shortly after moving to Charlotte in 2009, I pursued my passion for teaching and earned my teaching license through UNC Charlotte. This is my 7th year teaching at Dilworth! (5 years in second grade, 1 year in third, and now back to second!) When I am not teaching, you can find me anywhere outside. I love hiking and running, and spend lots of time at The Whitewater Center. Looking forward to another great year at our wonderful school!

Hi! I'm Mary Caitlan Adams, a second grade teacher at Dilworth! I was born and raised in Laurinburg, NC and I am the youngest of three girls--all teachers! I attended East Carolina University and graduated in 2011. GO PIRATES! I’ve taught both 1^st and 2^nd grades over the last 8 years. My husband and I moved from Raleigh four years ago and have been so happy in Charlotte. We welcomed our first baby, Wyatt, in January. I'm excited for a fantastic year!
