Hello!
A little about your teacher...
I graduated from Syracuse University with my Bachelor's Degree in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education (1-6). I continued my education and received a Master's Degree in Inclusive Secondary Special Education (6-12). Afterwards, I worked as a Special Education teacher in 8th grade in Connecticut before moving to North Carolina with my husband, Aaron. After moving, I taught 5th grade. Now, I am back to my Middle School roots! This will be my seventh year teaching and I am a National Board Certified Teacher in the field of Literacy.
Overall, I am an adventurous person. I was born and raised in upstate New York, and have a true love for the outdoors. I love to try new things and have always loved to learn. Outside of school, I hike, practice and teach yoga, and love spending time with my friends and family. We have two adored dogs, Luna and Athena.
My main goal is to instill a love for learning in you! I want you to come to school curious about the world, and to be endlessly asking questions to develop your own opinions based on reason. I want you to feel safe and respected, and always expect you to give that to others as well.
See the course prospectus for more course information.
