End of Year Kindergarten Expectations
At the end of the year, your child will be able to:
- Recognize and name all upper and lowercase letters
- Produce all letter sounds
- Recognize at least 80 sight words (please refer to the big 100 sight word list that was sent home at the beginning of school)
- Read grade level texts fluently (read a level C or higher)
- Draw, talk, or write to help me explain something by telling the topic and details about it
- write a complete sentence (by sounding out words)
- Count to 100 by ones and tens.
- Recognize and write numerals 0-20
- Touch and count objects to 20
- Fluently add and subtract numbers 0-5
- Solve addition and subtraction word problems within 10
- Make numbers up to 20 in more than one way
- Compare numbers and tell which is more or less
- Observe daily weather and changes in weather
- Explain how families have needs and wants
