Mrs. MCKEOWN'S FOURTH GRADE CLASS
WELCOME!
Important information regarding our school year will be found here. I look forward to a great 2024-2025 school year in Fourth Grade.
About Mrs. McKeown:
By way of introduction, my name is Paige McKeown and I have resided in Charlotte for the past 20 years. I live very close to Sharon Elementary in the Barclay Downs neighborhood with my husband, J. Wriley, an attorney in private practice in Charlotte and currently a Colonel on active duty status with the Army Reserves as a JAG. My oldest son, Wriley, is a graduate Ole Miss and is currently working on Capitol Hill. My daughter, Emma Kate, is entering her junior year at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and my youngest son, Ford, is a tenth grader at Myers Park High School. Our family also has a very boisterous Boykin Spaniel named Scout who we affectionately call “Little Havoc!” We also adore our Welsh Springer Spaniel named Sawyer. Scout and Sawyer keep our home very lively!
As an educator, I have a Bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and a Master’s degree from Mississippi College in Elementary Education. Before moving to Charlotte, I taught sixth grade language arts in a middle school for several years. Through the years, I stayed at home with my children and eventually began working in my husband’s law firm. Most recently, I began substituting in local CMS schools. In October of 2019, I became a long term substitute in a second grade class for a teacher taking a maternity leave at Sharon. I lead the class for two months and loved every second. The teacher and I worked well together and the transition was seamless. In the spring of 2020, I also filled in for Ms. McSwain in first grade while she took a maternity leave. Both experiences excited my desire to lead and teach young inquiring minds!
With that said, I officially became a lead teacher for fourth grade during the 2020-2021 school year. While it was a challenge to lead a class during a pandemic, my class flourished and thrived! I am looking forward to the 2024-2025 school year and meeting new students and their families!
