Hello! My name is Erica Gaske (VanStaalduinen was my maiden name). I am excited to be your child's teacher this year. This is the beginning of my 22th year of teaching. I have spent 15 years teaching second grade at Sharon. I was a first grade teacher prior to that.
I was born and raised in Upstate New York (we are huge Buffalo Bills fans). I moved down to Charlotte in 2005 to start teaching. I currently have National Board certification in Elementary Education.
I have two children who both attend Sharon Elementary and one 17 year old pup named Cozy. Night and weekends are spent hanging out with these 3 and my husband.
Below are a few of my favorite things.
Color: dark teal blue and emerald green
Animal: Dolphins, tigers ( I really love all animals, creatures, etc.)
Flower: all flowers but calla lilies are some of my favorites
Food: sushi and chocolate, charcuterie boards
Drink: coffee, diet dr. pepper and spindrift
Shopping: Target, Amazon, Moxie Mercantile, any local shops
Sports: football- Buffalo Bills!!!!
Hobbies: hiking local NC mountains, running, anything outdoors, gardening and including my children with these activities.
