Mrs. Sara Cockerham
Hello! This will be my first year at Lawrence Orr. I'm very excited to begin this new adventure at Lawrence Orr as it is much closer to my home than my previous school was and everyone is so nice and welcoming at LO. I am moving from Endhaven Elementary School (also a CMS School) where I had taught for twelve years- six years in 4th grade and the last six years in 2nd grade. This year will be my nineteenth year as an educator. I spent my first six years teaching in California (three years in Kindergarten and three years in 5th grade). I have a passion for educating others, and my goal is to teach skills and strategies that can carry a child through school and into the "real world". I want to help your child to be independent and confident!
I graduated with my degree and teaching credential from Dominican University of California and my Masters in Instruction and Curriculum from Brandman University. I moved to Charlotte from Southern California in August of 2013. I'm a baseball fan and root for the Los Angeles Angels. I am married and have one son, who will celebrate his fourth birthday this October. I also enjoy baking and walking/ running, exploring Charlotte and NC with my husband-Mr. Cockerham a pre-K Literacy Facilitator in CMS, spending time with family, crafting, working in my yard and projects around our home. I spent the summer with family, getting things done around our house, crafting and just enjoying each day with my husband and son!
