MR. Betancourt

I have been a social studies teacher for over a decade within three diffrent states. During this time i have taught multiple subject areas in the Social studies including government, Economics, Sociology, Global and United States history among others. I completed a bachelor's degree in history from New Jersey City University in 2010 to then complete a master's degree in teaching social studies from Columbia University in 2012. I am currently in the process of returning to graduate school for a degree in history from the university of North carolina-Chapel Hill.

Teaching and the field of social studies--in particular history-- are passions of mine because in order to understand individuals, we must understand their history. in turn, to understand history itself, we must understand the individuals who live it. We are always participating in something larger than ourselves and is one of my teaching objectives to prepare young minds for an ever evolving social construct.
