About Me

My name is Monica Lee. I have been teaching in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools for 17 years. I have taught at the Paideia Academy at Oakhurst and Irwin Academic Center here in CMS. I have also taught in Seattle Public Schools and in Cecil County, Maryland. This year marks my 25th year in Education. I have taught preschool, Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade. I also spent 5 years of my career as a Literacy Facilitator. I love teaching and I know this profession is my purpose.

I was born in Egg Harbor, New Jersey and raised in Philadelphia. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Delaware and my Master of Education from Temple University. I completed my Gifted Education Certification at Queens University in 2019.

My husband, Shelton and I have been married for 25 years and we have two children, Asmara and Brehan.
