Quick Guide to Changing Your Email/Network Password for Staff
Go to passwordreset.microsoftonline.com on any device and/or browser, sign in with your full email account with @cms.k12.nc.us. Follow the prompts to get your password changed.
Passwords must be thirteen (13) or more characters.
Include Uppercase and Lowercase letters, Numbers, and Special Characters.
Must be different from the last 10 passwords and can only change password once every 24 hours.
If a student needs to change their password, ask for help from either your teacher or Ms. Haley at the Media Center.
A surprising amount of tech issues can be resolved by restarting your device.
Power Cycle - Turn the device off for about 1 minute
iPad
Hold the top button down down until the “Slide to Power Off” bar appears. Slide your finger along the bar to turn it off. Leave it off for a minute, then turn it back on by holding the power button down.
Chromebook
Hold the power button down until the screen shuts off. Leave it off for a minute, then turn it back on by holding the power button down.
Hard Reset - If the Power Cycle doesn't work, try a hard reset. This can also help to unfreeze a frozen device
iPad:
Press and hold the top button and home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
Chromebook:
Turn off the Chromebook. Press and hold the refresh button and tap the power button. When your Chromebook starts up, release refresh.
