How Can You Help Your Middle School Student?
- Check on your child's academic progress using PowerSchool and Canvas. If you don't have your login information, contact Mrs. Russell and she will assist.
- Communicate frequently with teachers to discuss concerns about academics and behavior.
- Check your child's agenda each night! They should have something written in their agenda each day, during each block.
- Check in with our school counselor, Mr. Gibson, if you have any social or emotional concerns about your child or if you would like to schedule a conference. We know middle school can be very overwhelming!!
- Your child can make an appointment with their school counselor electronically at anytime.
- Make sure your child is always reading a book. We are encouraging students to improve literacy skills at all grade levels and the 6th grade will be competing in a book challenge soon!
- You can sign-up to be an Observer in your child's classroom. Click here for directions.
- Parent Square and Connect Ed are also great ways to stay in the loop!
