Parents, we appreciate all that you do! We love when you come to support your child and assist us as teachers. Please note that ALL visitors and volunteers are required to register with CMS.
*Siblings are not permitted while you are volunteering or visiting.
Please make sure you are checking PowerSchool Parent Portal on a regular basis so you can stay informed on your child’s performance for all assignments in each subject.

Prepare-0% of grade
Assignments that allow students to practice new learning with no risk for mistakes, such as homework, pre-assessments, checklists, etc.
Rehearse-40% of grade
Assignments such as quizzes, exit tickets, note-catchers, mid-unit checklists, conferring notes, stop and jots, rubrics, etc.
There will be a 3 day grace period if work is turned in late unrelated to an absence, and 10 points off per school week (5 days) will be deducted for late assignments.
**Teachers will not be able to accept late work during the last 3 school days of each quarter. If your child makes a reasonable attempt to complete an assignment, they will earn a minimum score of 50% in PowerSchool. The actual score will be noted in the notes section of Power School.
Perform-60% of grade
Assignments such as projects, mid/end-of-unit assessments, ongoing writing assignments, etc.
If a student does not demonstrate mastery, they may participate in additional/new learning opportunities (small group instruction, Dreambox, video instruction, miscue analysis, extra assignments) and be reassessed using a parallel assessment to show mastery within a 3-week period.
The highest score a student may earn on a retest is 80%.

Missing Work
CMS Grading Update: If your child does not attempt to complete an assignment, they will earn a score of 0% in PowerSchool. This assignment can be made up before the last 3 days of the quarter.
