Hello 4th grade families and students! I am so excited to be with you guys this year.
While I am, originally, from New York, I grew up in Charlotte and even graduated from CMS! I graduated from East Carolina University (go Pirates!) with a degree in Elementary Ed!
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, shopping, reading, listening to live music, and being outdoors!
I am looking forward to working with each of you and watching you all grow!
Greetings! I am so excited to be back with 4th grade this year and look forward to meeting students and families alike. I will be teaching ELA for both my class and Ms. Glynn's class.
Here is a little more about me…. I grew up in Henderson, KY (western KY) and did my undergraduate work in education at Murray State University and graduate work in History at Middle Tennessee State University. I have worked for non-profits, state tourism offices, and owned my own consulting business. Teaching and coaching for all ages have always been a passion of mine!
I have been in NC for over 20 years now and live in south Charlotte with my husband Philip, our son Liam who is a 7th grader at Crestdale Middle School, and our labradoodle Eli. When I am not teaching school, you can find me reading, cooking, reading, watching sports, reading, hanging with my sister and my nieces and nephews, or reading. I love to travel, be in the mountains, paint and draw, and listen to good music!
I am looking forward to getting to know you all and guiding you through your 4th grade year at McAlpine!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I love to read and spend time outdoors. I also enjoy watching football - Go Giants and hockey - Go Rangers!
I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you individually and celebrating our growth and our successes throughout the year!
