LtCol Silvia was born in Norton, Massachusetts but moved around the east coast growing up. He attended high school in Fairfax, Virginia and then earned his BA in Animal Science from the University of Florida. He was a farm manager for two years before enlisting in the USMC and working as an Avionics technician before earning his commission. He spent 22 years in the USMC, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. His primary MOS was a CH53E pilot and he has over 2500 flight hours. His billets included instructor at the Marine Weapons and Tactics school, Director of Safety and Standardization for 2D Marine Aircraft Wing, Regimental Air Officer at MARSOC and Commanding Officer for Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 366. During his time in the Marine Corps, LtCol Silvia earned a MA in Military Arts and Science and an MBA in Strategic Leadership.
After retiring, LtCol Silvia worked at Amazon for 5 years with his last job being Multi- Site leader for 9 buildings in seven different states.
LtCol Silvia then began his MCJROTC career as he started at Ardrey Kell in May of 2023. He enjoys working out, spending time with family, and being on the water. He is married to April Silvia and they have 4 children- Ashley 25, Craig 22, Wyatt 19, and Jaxon 9.
