Advice from Mrs. Kranish's AP Calculus AB/BC Former Students:
-Do your homework
-To ask questions even if you are afraid. If you don't ask the questions you will be behind and confused for the rest of the unit. Just make sure your not afraid to ask the questions.
-Study the later units more because the early ones are drilled into you all year but there is less time to drill the later units in before the exam.
-Do your notes and homework every night. If you fall behind you will struggle, and you need to study the night before tests/quizzes.
-Don't procrastinate, do all your work and homework, go to tutoring as soon as you start getting confused, ask questions, study
-Spend 10 minutes per night reviewing the content from that day. This saved me a lot of time studying the night before a test.
-Don't be scared just do your homework to make sure you understand every topic.
-Do your homework, if you don't you will NOT understand anything that goes on.
-It's pretty easy to pass if you actually sit down and study, please study
-study instead of cramming at the end of the semester and ask for help
-Don't fall behind and do your homework each night it actually helps
-Make sure to do corrections on your hw, study and go to tutoring
-Have a group of friends in the class that you can work with.
-Take practice tests months prior to the exam
-Just do the work and pay attention in class
-Make sure to keep up, that's all you need.
Advice from past AP Calculus AB/BC Students:
-Pay attention during class, do the homework that is given, and make sure to ask questions on anything that you do not understand and the class will be a whole lot easier
-Study hard and make sure to do the test reviews and class games before the test.
-Honestly to just trust you because everything that you end up seeing on the test is a problem you have done during class at some point.
-Make sure to ask questions when confused and do the notes and homework
-It is going be harder than you think and you’re going to have to study kore than you thought you would. The class isn’t easy but being active in class makes it much more manageable.
-I would advise the students to not give up when they are frustrated and not understanding a problem because there is always a way to get to the correct answer. Everything builds off each other and if you don’t understand one thing it just makes the rest of the year harder.
-Review your notes and write down the steps to solve each type of problem before every test
-I would advice to try to learn every topic because all of the topics build on each other so it’s important to learn everything. Also, you should make good use of the website because it is organized well with all of the topics.
-The class honestly isn’t as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Yes, the content can be challenging at times but as long as you take the time to understand the concepts you’ll do fine.
-Do your homework!!! Just copying from the website doesn’t help you at all!!!
-Take advantage of tutoring and you have to study
-Try to take the time to understand the math itself and not just the calculations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUvTyaaNkzM&list=PLZHQObOWTQDMsr9K-rj53DwVRMYO3t5Yr this is a great video series that helped me a lot with understanding and visualizing what the math actually means, the channel is great too. Also always pay attention during notes and homework, the information is all there and presented really well.
-Don’t take any moment in the class for granted. This includes notes, group assignments, class work, and of course those precious memories.
-Don’t slack on being proficient on any of the units and practice FRQ’s are the best way to study for the AP Exam.
-Don’t be afraid to get help when you need it, but keep going and you might surprise yourself with what you actually know.
-Keep your work organized so you can study later
-Pay attention in class, and don’t procrastinate on assignments. If you put effort into actually learning the math, you WILL do well
-Use your resources and get in the habit of studying consistently.
-Study at least 1 hour a day.
-Go back and look at stuff, it's actually important and you'll actually use stuff from every unit throughout the year, unlike most other math classes.
-Do the homework every single day. All of it! Try to understand what you are solving and memorize the shortcuts as well as the steps. The more you do the problems the better you'll get. Don't copy from the website, actually try to do the homework by yourself first. Don't stress, just do the work, it'll be fine. It's better if you talk with your group mates because they may understand somethings differently and it might help you as well.
