I am always so excited to begin the new semester!  This is my 27th year as an English teacher at Independence.   I am so excited to get to know you all and go on this journey with you!

A little bit about me...

I graduated from the College of William and Mary and worked for three years as a reporter for a newspaper on the Outer Banks before moving to Charlotte in 1999.  We escape back to the beach any chance we get!

I have three amazing kids (Nick-23, Maggie-20, and Sam-18) and a pretty incredible husband of 26 years.

I love teaching and having the opportunity to work with students each semester, and I love being a Patriot!
