Students have access to technology in the classroom in a variety of different media and devices several times a day. During the session students learn how to navigate technology in a responsible and effective manner by interacting with a variety of educational programs and applications.
Beginning Cardinal Techs concentrate on acquiring introductory computing skills, with a strong focus on developing keyboard, mouse and word processing skills. They learn to change font sizes, styles and colors as well as to insert, size and position clipart, add page borders and print documents.
Intermediate Cardinal Techs utilize their foundation in keyboard skills and writing to expand into more diverse skill-sets, including Excel spreadsheets, Powerpoint slide shows, internet research and continue their development of word processing and keyboarding proficiency.
Advanced Cardinal Techs combine multiple skill-sets to research facts, collect images, name, store and manage file-sets and create title art in Powerpoint. They continue to work with a variety of applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word as well as learning to use photo editing.
Cardinal Tech of All levels learn keyboard, mouse and touchscreen skills and continuously instructed in the importance of internet safety and of being a responsible digital citizen. All students engage individualized educational activities in literacy and mathematics by utilizing a variety of programs.
