Mrs. Raye

Hello GOE families!  I am from Charlotte, North Carolina. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exploring, and taking beach vacations.

I attended CMS schools as a student and I am happy to be back in the place where I gained my education. I completed my undergraduate degree at Wingate University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Family Studies. I then completed my Master’s Degree at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte majoring in School Counseling.

My goal as a professional school counselor at GOE is to provide assistance in helping all students reach their highest potential. I will achieve this goal by collaborating with students, staff and families to ensure academic, career, social and emotional success. To ensure this success, Mrs. Freeman and I will work as a team to  deliver a preventative comprehensive school counseling program that will  focus on meeting with students at the individual, group, classroom and school levels. I am excited for another great school year at GOE.

Mrs. Freeman

I am so excited to get to serve the students, staff, and families at Grand Oak Elementary this year! My role as a school counselor is to help students become successful through the development of their social, emotional, and academic skills. To accomplish these goals, I meet with students individually, in small groups, and classroom settings. I also serve as a resource to staff and parents through consultation and conferencing as needed.

As an undergraduate, I attended college at Appalachian State University majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. I then completed my Master's Degree in School Counseling and Development at Winthrop University and earned my National Board Certification in School Counseling in December of 2017.

When not working with the staff, students, and families at Grand Oak, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our son, Liam, who is a fourth grader at GOE, and my energetic Pre-Ker, Gracie.
