Second Grade

Welcome Back, Dragons!

I am so excited to have you here!

We are going to learn and love and grow so much this year!

The first day of school is Monday, August 28th, 2023.

About Me

I am SO excited to be your scholar's teacher this year! I am originally from Albany, Georgia, and I grew up with my two lovely parents, my two older brothers, and our wonderful dog. During my senior year of high school, I was awarded the Foundation Fellowship at the University of Georgia and the Jefferson Scholarship at the University of Virginia. I ended up following my heart and choosing the Foundation Fellowship at UGA, and I graduated from there in 2020. Go Dawgs!!! As a Foundation Fellow, I got to be a part of an amazing cohort of brilliant and kind people, and we got to travel the world together to places such as Bali and Costa Rica and study abroad at the University of Oxford. I moved to Charlotte with Teach for America in 2020, and I've been teaching ever since! I've spent the last three years teaching at Joseph W. Grier Academy, and I am so excited to be teaching second grade this year. My second-grade teacher was my favorite teacher growing up, and I can't wait to make memories like that with my amazing students this year! This past year, I was a Storytelling Fellow for Teach for America-North Carolina, and this summer, I was an Aspiring Leaders Intern for CMS. Outside of school, I love spending time in local coffee shops, trying new restaurants, going to sporting events and concerts, spending time with family and friends, and doing crafts.
